A Chardonnay with incredible balance and complexity that can age like fine Burgundy.
Bright yellow color. Intense aromas of citric fruit and grilled hazelnut with a mineral touch. On the palate, great varietal fruit intensity is enhanced by excellent acidity. The aftertaste lingers with mineral and fruity notes mixed with hints of French oak. The balance between alcohol and acidity is impressive and gives this wine a freshness, a length, and an aging potential not commonly found in white Chilean wines.
This wine pairs well with delicate foods such lighter seafood and creamy vegetable soups.
The 2019 Sol de Sol Chardonnay has a moderate 13% alcohol and a low pH, reflecting the cool vintage in the Traiguen zone of Malleco where the vines are planted. The wine was kept in barrel with the lees—which were stirred twice per week—for nine months without being racked. It has a sharp and austere profile, a medium body and very good balance. It's an austere Chardonnay. 5,333 bottles were filled in April 2020.Wine Advocate August 2021
The 2019 Chardonnay SOLdeSOL from Traiguen, Malleco, was fermented and aged for nine months in 225- and 400-liter French casks. A light golden yellow in color, it presents a nose of hazelnut, butter, pear and apple, plus hints of corn and yeast. Creamy and free-flowing thanks to the sparky, well-integrated acidity lent by the southern climate, it is fatty in the mouth with a lengthy, bold finish.Vinous May 2021
