WINE OVERVIEW

This wine’s Burgundian style makes it one of Argentina’s leading and highest-regarded Pinots.

Tasting Notes

Beautiful garnet color with aromas of wild strawberries, saddle leather and cola root. A complex Pinot with notes of leather, spice, and cherry/raspberry confiture on the palate. Amazing aroma and finishes with an enjoyable Burgundian bent.

Food Pairing

Pairs well with foods such as lamb chops, grilled salmon, roasted duck or chicken, and game birds. Pinot lovers may just go ahead and drink it all by itself!

There is a subtle mineral streak to the spiced berries, moss and dry earth. Juicy, bone dry and elegant, with a mineral texture and a pithy, tense finish. Drink or hold. James Suckling May 2024

Blackberry, cherry and thyme shape an attractive nose. This is an elegant and structured Pinot Noir that has optimal acidity. The palate shows complexity, with black tea flavors followed by blackberries, herbs, peppercorn and nutmeg. Hints of cardamom add depth. Wine Enthusiast January 2024

Descorchados

Decent enough in its own way, but not as exciting as the Domaine Nico Pinot Noirs from the same stable, this is a fresh, tangy, savoury style made from clones 115 and 777, showing red cherry and raspberry fruit, some chalky minerality and a backdrop of toasty oak. 2024-28 Tim Atkin 2024

Tech Details

The Vineyards are located in Gualtallary (Tupungato). The grapes are hand-harvested and aged 12 months in 25% new French barrels and 75% 2nd use French barrels. Certified sustainable through Bodegas de Argentina
