Cambridge Distillery

Walking through the meadows surrounding Cambridge inspired William and Lucy Lowe to create gins that capture the taste of the English seasons using botanicals grown in and around their home. They founded Cambridge Distillery on the principle that no two botanicals are identical and as such, they need to be treated individually. To achieve this, they developed a unique novo-dimensional distillation matrix in which temperature, timing and pressure are just three of the nine variables that they use to tailor the treatment of each botanical. This means they can distill the freshest and most delicate botanicals and achieve a level of precision vastly beyond that of traditional distillation.

At Cambridge Distillery, they focus their effort on gins which have never been done before or where they envision an opportunity to greatly improve the quality of what is available. Every gin Cambridge Distilling has released has won international awards for quality, and their unique philosophy has led to Cambridge Distillery being awarded three consecutive times as the most innovative distillery in the world.

“We all are no more and no less than the sum of our experiences and our memories. If you can find a way to evoke that resonant conscience interaction with a time and a place that has since passed, you’re reconnecting people with their own lives. It makes people more aware, more connected, more present. If we can get to the point where people can taste and reignite those memories, that, to me, is an incredible privilege.” - William Lowe, co-founder.

About

“Gin production has remained almost completely unchanged since the mid-18th century. Most are good. Some are very good. We wanted to create something outstanding.” - William Lowe

Behind Cambridge Distillery

Cambridge gins are the vision of William Lowe, the co-founder. He distills each botanical individually to preserve the purity of its essence and only then does he blend these perfectly refined elements into spirits of exquisite quality. William is the first and only Master Distiller in the world to gain the most coveted and respected title in wine industry: Master of Wine. He is a two-time winner of the title International Wine and Spirits Educator of the year.
