This Malbec is from the newly designated sub-appellation Paraje Altamira in the Uco Valley. Available exclusively at restaurants and wine bars.
Notes of black cherry and dark berry with hints of violet, vanilla, and mocha. Deep and dense on the palate with round tannins. This ia great expression of Malbec from the sunny days and cold nights of Altamira.
Pairs well with steak, pork dishes, and chicken in rich sauces.
A Malbec from Paraje Altamira that spent 12 months in French barrels, 30% of them new, made by Luis Reginato. Attractive, intense purple in the glass. The elegant aging notes come out on the nose, which features cigar box and hints of vanilla, blackberry and red currant, plus fragrant notes of violet and thyme. Complex and fruity, the tight palate is sustained by a layer of chalk and the good body. An intense wine.Vinous October 2020
A wine sold mostly in restaurants, the 2018 Malbec Paraje Altamira is juicy and showcases the expression of the grape in the limestone-rich soils of Altamira in Valle de Uco. It has good freshness, and the ripeness is contained, coming through as tasty and easy to drink, quite good for the by-the-glass market. The Wine Advocate October 2019
Focused red currant and crushed plum flavors feature hints of green olive on a silky and fine-grained texture. Turns minerally midpalate, with a licorice accent on the finish. Drink now through 2025.Wine Spectator November 2020
