‘Never slow down’ and dance in Tupungato with Domingo Fazzio with his Malbec full of supple tannins, red currant, and mocha notes.
The vibrant nose of red and black cherries and ripe plums combines with floral touches of violets and rose petals. It holds a nice tannic structure that is full on the palate. Vanilla, chocolate, and some spice appears to make it more complex.
This is a fruit-driven, fresh and well-structured wine that pairs great with meats like prosciutto or hard cheeses. Unique recipe ideas include Smoked Chicken and Blueberry Salad or Roast Pork Tenderloin with Medjool Date, Olive and Walnut Relish.
Lots of savory character and a hint of menthol, as well as plenty of forest berries, but also some structure, wrapped within its warm embrace. Good length and spot-on balance. Drink or hold.James Suckling February 2019
Saturated medium ruby. Much tighter on the nose than the Paulucci, offering scents of blackberry and licorice, plus an intriguing note of honey. Then surprisingly pliant but classically dry, even a bit inky, in the mouth, with its dark fruit and spice flavors showing a touch of mineral reduction. These vines on loam over calcareous subsoil are just 12 years old but are already producing a wine with good mid-palate density and sweetness of fruit.Vinous September 2019
