A lush and juicy Petit Verdot-based blend that consistently overdelivers.
Aromas of blackberry, coffee, mocha, chocolate, and fig. Sweet and creamy with good lift to the black raspberry, licorice, and violet flavors. Finishes with tongue-dusting but suave tannins and very nice length.
Try with shredded beef, lamb chops with mint jelly, or grilled salmon with sage and tarragon.
The Malbec and Petit Verdot were fermented together. Juicy and glossy, the nose and palate show very good integration of the oak (it matured in used oak barrels for one year) and although young, it is already developing some complexity. There is a vibrant sensation in the palate, a combination of acidity, a fine texture and fine tannins making it showy and accessible but not banal. The Wine Advocate August, 2015
